                Bluefields Enterprises Inc. was established in 1980’s. It was founded by Dr. Vincent Pineda Perlas. BFEI developed as a muscuvado sugar producer in Brgy. Mandog, Maasin, Iloilo. The sugar mill was handed down from his grandparents, the late Engr. Jose Pineda and Clara Mondejar – Pineda.

       In 1987, BFEI became a corporation. Part of its expansion on May 30, 1987 is a sari-sari store located in the ground floor of the ancestral home of his mother in the town of Maasin, Iloilo.The Sari-sari Store started with five (5) employees with Dr. Vincent Perlas managing the business.        In 1990, he teamed up with his two (2) siblings, Dr. Antonio Perlas and Victoria Perlas– Alcantara to form Bluefields Trading Post., Inc. (BFTPI), with retailing as its core business. It was also during this time when his wife, Dr. Charrie Perlas played a critical role in the management and expansion of the business.
      
      Six (6) years later, BFTPI established a branch in the town of Sta. Barbara, Iloilo
the hometown of their father, Engr. Jesus Perlas. Four years later (October 1, 2000),it opened its bicycle and hardware/construction supplies section in Sta. Barbara, Iloilo.

       In May 5 1996, Blue Fields Sta. Barbara was established, hometown of their father. Engr. Jesus C. Perlas In 2004, Bluefields established the third branch in Alta Tierra Village, Jaro. As years passed by, numerous innovations were introduced and new policies were created by the management to enhance its operations, like the crafting of its tagline – your friendly, convenient and best value supermart, professionalization of its Accounting and Human Development Department and the automation of its merchandise and payroll system.

       BlueFields have now grown to three (3) branches of grocery outlets and two (2)hardware outlets. It continues to strive harder to become the leader in grocery and hardware business serving the respective ancestral towns of their parents. Today, the company seeks to innovate further in other technologies. One of its business strategies is: listen to customers’ needs and develop innovative solutions to meet those needs.

       As a result of this strategy, BFTPI is enjoying a fascinating growth. With more than 150 employees, and continuing determination and focus, it aims to offer the best customer service in town. It is always committed to provide quality merchandise at reasonable prices.
